While we're all out here wearing floral maxi dresses and smocked milkmaid tops for summer, Rihanna, who's always one sartorial step ahead, is already dressing for fall. The singer, beauty mogul, and fashion designer stepped out last night in a nude Nanushka sweater dress in Santa Monica, CA. The elegant, wool-and-cashmere knit number—accented with a steamy, high leg slit—left us looking on in awe in our August linens.
To add a bit of sparkle, Rih wore covetable crystal-embellished Amina Muaddisandals, large hoop earrings, and a diamond chain necklace by Djula. She toted a chevron leather clutch, too.
The cozy dressing was likely inspired by the close company. Rihanna was out to dinner with her boyfriend, businessman Hassan Jameel; her mother, Monica Braithwaite; and one of her brothers, multiple outlets are reporting. The group enjoyed steak, seafood, wine, and specialty cocktails at the beachside eatery Mason.
"At one point, Rihanna and Hasaan were arm in arm," an insider told People. "They all stayed a good few hours of the night until dark."
Earlier in the month, she wore a fluff ball of pink feathers — courtesy of David Laport — to the Crop Over festival in the Caribbean. Before that, she debuted a pair of neon-yellow pedestal heels and a Louis Vuitton vanity box, which she toted from the airport as a purse.
Although her latest is equally stunning, it airs more on the subtle side than her recent parade of daring looks. Rihanna's beige Nanushka sweater dress is beloved by bold dressers like her and the more reserved alike.
Rihanna and Jameel, who hails from a billionaire family in Saudi Arabia, first sparked romance rumors when they were spotted kissing in a pool two summers ago. Since then, the couple has remained low-key about their relationship (they’re not Instagram-official yet), but they've been seen out on occasional outings such as last night's family dinner in California.
Although Rih keeps mum about their romance, she did tell Sarah Paulson for Interview magazine in June, "I got into a new relationship, and it matters to me." When asked if she was in love, the singer responded, "Of course I am."
