Hollywood icon Will Smith's Ganga Aarti pics are perfect dose of Monday motivation

Hollywood icon Will Smith says his trip to India awakened a new understanding of himself and the world around him. The actor, who visited Haridwar to shoot for his Facebook Watch show "Will Smith's Bucket List", took to Instagram Saturday to share the pictures of the experience. "My Grandmother used to say, 'God Teaches through Experience'.

"Travelling to India and experiencing the colours, people and natural beauty has awakened a new understanding of myself, my art and the truths of the world," Smith captioned the series of photographs and a video, including that of the Ganga aarti.

For a previous episode, titled "Will Smith's Bucketlist: Bollywood Dancing", Smith shot a Bollywood dance sequence, which he said, was a dream come true for him.

He took up dancing to the popular dance number, Radha from Student of the Year but with the star cast of the new franchisee i.e. Tiger Shroff, Ananya Pandey and Tara Sutaria. The 50-year-old star while shooting the sequence admitted that while he felt nervous, he managed to get “a really good sense of what makes Bollywood tick because it’s what makes me tick.”

“People go to the movies because they want to have fun, they want to feel good,” he said. “But then by opening themselves to this collective emotional experience, an opportunity is presented where we can actually learn something about life.”

Smith's dance sequence will feature in Johar's upcoming production "Student of the Year 2".

In his latest India tour, the actor also roamed around in an autorickshaw across the busy streets of Mumbai and got some dance lessons from actor Ranveer Singh too.

Singh had informed Smith that when songs are shot in Bollywood films, it is more like a carnival and the audience sees a Bollywood hero represents the ideal with all the positive qualities. Post this, Ranveer took Will to see a video of his song Tattad Tattad from his film Goliyon Ki Rasleela- Ram Leela. On seeing the video of the song, Will felt the energy of Bollywood and does a few steps with Ranveer.

This was not the Hollywood star's first visit to the country.

In 2017, Smith had come to Mumbai for the promotion of Netflix film "Bright". He also visited New Delhi for a conclave.
