Hilary Banks Actress: "Of Course She would Join a Fresh Prince Reboot"

Karyn Parsons said she would definitely be a part of a “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” reboot despite previously suggesting otherwise.

Parsons, who played Hilary Banks in the much-loved show, told Bold TV of a possible reunion: “Of course I would be there, of course I would.”

She did add that it would be hard without the late James Avery, who played Uncle Phil. The actor passed away in December 2013.

Parsons continued, “I have a hard time seeing it happen, especially since we lost James Avery, so it seems really hard to imagine. But yeah, I would follow those guys anywhere they go.”

The writer, producer and actor was then asked about why rebooting ’90s sitcoms seems so popular right now, to which she replied: “Now maybe we’re just seeing that people are not just nostalgic, but hungry. They’re nostalgic for those shows and those characters and the feeling they had from all of that because that was real.

“Year after year people come up to me and say ‘I loved your show, it was my favourite show. And now it’s my kid’s favourite show.’ I had no idea when we were doing it that this would happen.”

Parsons’ latest comments come after she spoke about a “Fresh Prince” reboot on U.K. morning show “Lorraine”.

Suggesting she wouldn’t be up for it, the star told the host: “For us, the loss of James Avery changed the whole picture. I don’t think it would have happened anyway but with James gone, it just seems possible.”
